joining the journal of open research software

2013-12-03

I am proud to join the editorial board of the Journal of Open Research Software (JORS), an Open Access journal sponsored by the Software Sustainability Institute.

JORS is a new entry in the academic publishing landscape; however, it is an innovative journal that deserves attention from scholars. It features peer reviewed software papers describing open source research software with high reuse potential. A software paper rewards researchers-who open their software-with a publication and its related citations. As I previously published one paper in JORS, I wrote a review of the publishing experience weeks ago. Feel free to read it to know more.

Besides all other tasks an associate editor usually performs, I will work with JORS board members to raise the journal visibility, trustworthiness, and transparency in the editorial process, towards an even more Open Science. Additionally, I will take care of keeping JORS a cutting-edge, innovative journal for Open Science, with some exciting upcoming projects.
