what is next? (an update after summer vacation)
I am slowly going back to real life. The last 7-8 months have been intense and challenging for me. On 23rd July I successfully graduated with a Master of Science degree in Computer Science (Software Engineering). The thesis comprised two intense empirical researches on the role of affective states for software developers. Thereafter, I spent a wonderful week in Majorca, to completely relax.
I came back from vacation 15 days ago to start working for the Faculty of Computer Science of my University, in order to continue the research started with the thesis. Therefore, I had to finish a research paper related to my thesis. There was an important deadline for a scientific conference to be met. I will not divulge more details before I know the fate of the paper. I am currently writing another paper, to be sent to a scientific journal. Let’s see what happens.
I’ve recently found the time to install Ubuntu Linux back on my Macbook Pro. This means that my most trivial (apparently, the most successful) opensource project mbpfan can be further developed. While I was away the tiny project was starred 2 times, forked 3 times, received 3 pull requests, and a code review by the original author of the project. Not bad for a project started for the purpose of re-practicing the C language. I appears that there is demand for yet another fan control daemon for Macbook running GNU/Linux.
Time to go back to work!
